No, a professional translator can translate your documents and they will be valid and legal.
In the BVI
Some documents need to be notarized in the BVI. For example: Birth certificate, Land transfer, Marriage license, Divorce certificates, Court Documents, etc. Some require an apostille in addition.
Documents that normally do not need to be notarized: medical documents such as laboratory or imaging results.
To be sure, you should ask the entity that is requesting the translation if it needs to be notarized and we will provide a quote including the notarization service.
In the USA
In the USA, most documents do not need to be notarized. Some documents, such as those required by the court, may need to be notarized. However, to be sure, you should verify if the translation needs to be notarized with the entity requiring it. If you do require it, we will give you a quote with the notarization cost included.
About Certification
Please note that all personal documents translated will be certified. That means that we will add a translation certification that includes the company name and our credentials, and we will stamp all the translated pages. However, you can let us know if you want your translation to be certified, even if it's not a personal document, and we will certify it for you at no extra cost.
No, being bilingual does not guarantee an accurate translation. A translator needs to have cultural knowledge and deep grammar knowledge. They also need to be deep and careful researchers to make sure the correct meaning is being conveyed in each translation. There are many other requirements as well. A translator that meets all these requirements usually has formal training and experience in translation.
